The Crane, Barbados' oldest continuously operating resort, completed a multimillion-dollar restoration to mark its 125th anniversary. The resort opened in 1887 as a hideaway for the island’s elite and went on to become a popular vacation destination for international travelers. The 232-room resort is set on 40 oceanfront acres. There are 18 guestrooms in the original coral stone building itself. All rooms have been renovated. Facilities include a spa, shops, fitness center, tennis courts, four restaurants, a jazz bar and art gallery. Summer rates start at $214 per room, per night, double.
