The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group – one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups – has appointed Malcolm Rann as district director of five Radisson Blu properties in the UK, and general manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Stansted Airport. Malcolm, who was born in Brazil and raised in a number of international locations before settling in the UK; has a solid background in the hospitality industry, spanning almost 30 years. Having started his career at the Portman Intercontinental Hotel in London in 1982, Malcolm gained invaluable experience working for large international hotel groups in Europe and the Middle East, including spells as general manager in Edinburgh, Asmara and Muscat, and Director of Operations for Oman for Intercontinental Hotels Group. In 2005, Malcolm joined Rezidor as the General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh, where just two years later he was promoted to District Director UK North, responsible for six hotels – his most recent position. In his new role, Malcolm will be based at the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Stansted Airport – with 500 guest rooms, the largest property in the brand’s UK portfolio. Additionally, Malcolm will take on the role of District Director for Radisson Blu properties in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Jersey.
