Perkins+Will has won the contract for Diplomatic Quarter hotel in Riyadh for Saudi Hotel and Resorts Company (SHARACO). The company will design the new five-star hotel in the Diplomatic Quarter. The low-rise four-story structure, which is due for completion in 2016, is inspired by the country’s wadis and oases. Ben Piper, Dubai-based director of architectural design for Perkins+Will said: “Local materials, environment, and culture expressed in a manner that is faithful to the region and needs of the project.” The project comes as part of SHARACO’s commitment to deliver hi-end and unique building projects in the region.
