India’s first urban Park Hyatt has opened for business in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills district. The 209-room hotel, about 15 minutes from Hyderabad’s central business district, includes a spa and more than 17,000 square feet of meeting space. The property also includes 42 full-service apartments ranging from one-bedroom, 927-square-foot units to three-bedroom, 2,317-square-foot apartments. The eight-story building was designed by John Portman & Associates, whose other works include the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, New York Marriott Marquis and the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. The Park Hyatt Hyderabad is the second under the Park Hyatt badge in India, following the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, which opened in 2002.
