Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), and Makkah Gov Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah, jointly opened the 1,743-room Anjum Hotel-Makkah. This is the largest hotel inventory in the Middle East.
The new hotel will be able to accommodate about 3,500 guests. The hotel opening also marks the launch of the first phase of the Jabal Omar real estate project.
Yousuf Abdul Latif Jameel, chairman of ALJ Real Estate Investment Company focussed on the government’s efforts to develop the two holy cities and expand their hospitality facilities. “Such projects are important as the Kingdom bracing for 13 million foreign pilgrims who are expected to come for Haj and Umrah by the year 2019,” he added.
He also noted Prince Mishaal’s support to Jabal Omar project. “In the second and third phases of the project, Jabal Omar hotels will be able to provide 7,000 rooms within the next seven years,” he said.
