A group of London Hilton hotels plan to mark Earth Hour 2012 from 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 31, 2012 as people and organisations around the world turn off their lights in support of action on global climate change. London Hilton on Park Lane, The Waldorf Hilton, Hilton London Metropole, Hilton London Tower Bridge, Hilton London Canary Wharf and many of the more than 3,800 hotels that are part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands are expected to take part in the event that will mobilize more than one billion people worldwide. Earth Hour will be celebrated at these hotels through a variety of activities including: London Hilton on Park Lane ·      Podium restaurant will be selling organic cupcakes, from which £0.50 will be donated to the Hilton in the Community Foundation charity for every cupcake sold between Thursday 29th March – Monday 2nd April ·      Trader Vic’s restaurant will limit the use of gas by using their wood-fired ovens ·      Galvin at Windows will serve organic wines and use organic ingredients where possible Perfectly located on prestigious Park Lane and boasting superb 360? views of the capital, the hotel offers a combination of contemporary and classic rooms over 28 floors. The Michelin starred Galvin at Windows Restaurant & Bar is located on the 28th floor with seasonally inspired modern French haute cuisine and classic cocktails with a twist. The Waldorf Hilton ·      Homage Grand Salon restaurant will host a candlelit dinner from 17h30 and 22h30 ·      Good Godfreys bar will serve its impressive range of cocktails by candlelight between 20h30 and 21h30 ·      External Hilton sign and roof lights will be switched off Situated on the verdant, tree-lined thoroughfare of Aldwych, in the heart of the theatre district, the Waldorf Hilton is one of London’s most iconic hotels. Hilton London Metropole ·      A giant clock in the lobby will countdown to the start of Earth Hour ·      A candlelit dinner will be held in the Fiamma restaurant, created with seasonal ingredients picked locally from Kent and Lincolnshire farms. Dishes include:      Smoked celeriac and J.Collingwoods Lincolnshire farm Conference pear carpaccio, served with pickled cauliflower     Organic Suffolk chicken fillet infused with lemon, tarragon and garlic, served with a London Gin foam; herb and onion ballotine; leek and potato cake; and parsnip ribbons      Organic rhubarb fool ·      Earth Hour ‘Clocktail’ Hour will offer two for one cocktails, including the limited edition chocolate fondue cocktail with Conference pear, brownie and marshmallows Hilton London Metropole is one of Europe’s largest hotel and conference centres. With superb transportation links, the hotel is just 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow Express at Paddington Station. Hilton London Canary Wharf ·      External Hilton signs will be turned off ·      Minimal lighting will be used in the reception, lobby and bar. Candles will be used instead ·      Guest corridor lighting will be reduced by 50% ·      An Earth Hour dinner menu will be served, created with locally sourced ingredients, sustainably sourced meats and energy efficient cooking techniques. Items on the menu include:  Yakitori seared beef, served with butternut foam, crisp leeks and sweet soy reduction  Locally reared pork belly, served with savoy cabbage wonton, carrot puree and garlic mirin jus  Strawberry spring roll, served with mint sorbet and white chocolate sauce The Hilton London Canary Wharf hotel is 15 minutes from London City Airport and located at the heart of Canary Wharf’s bustling business, café and shopping scene.
