Collaborating for the second time, InterContinental Hotel Group and Sociedad Hotelera Tequendama have announced the opening of Crowne Plaza Suites Tequendama Bogota in Columbia. Located adjacent to the hotel groups’ first property – the 573-room Crowne Plaza Tequendama Bogota – the new 30-story, 271-suited Crowne Plaza Suites Tequendama Bogota is positioned minutes from downtown and the financial district, modern shopping malls, gourmet restaurants and cultural attractions. The property is also conveniently placed approximately 20 minutes from El Dorado International Airport. The hotel, which was created through the conversion of an independent property, underwent an extensive renovation and features two well-designed, spacious suite options – deluxe and executive club – ranging from 176m² to 305m². All suites boast views of the city’s skyline and include a living room with a sofa-bed, a dining room table, a fully-equipped kitchenette and a highly-functional work station with wireless Internet access. The Crowne Plaza Suites Tequendama further features a spa facility, health and fitness centre, business centre, an indoor pool, and four restaurants. The new property also boasts three meeting rooms on the 30th floor that can accommodate up to 700 people. The signature comprehensive meetings programme consisting of three key components – a two-hour response guarantee, a Crowne meetings director, and a daily meetings debrief – is to complement the meeting facilities. The Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage, which encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and maintain a restful environment, to providing innovative products and services, is also to be available, with designated quiet zones and aromatherapy to complete the experience. “We are thrilled to open a second InterContinental Hotel Group property with Sociedad Hotelera Tequendama, and we look forward to continuing to work with them and flourishing our business relationship,” said COO, InterContinental Hotel Group – Latin American and Caribbean, Alvaro Diago. “The new Crowne Plaza Suites Tequendama complements the existing Crowne Plaza Tequendama by providing more rooms and meeting space to an area of Bogota that is in high demand from travellers and meeting planners,” further contributed vice president – sales and marketing, InterContinental Hotel Group – Latin American and Caribbean, Ricardo Lopez. “With both properties, there are now 800 rooms, all offering an upscale experience, affording the brand a competitive advantage among meetings and business travellers who are looking for not only a comprehensive meetings programme, but also generous amenities, a great location and high level of comfort.”
