Dubai Inn, a new hotel brand targeting value-conscious leisure and business travellers, will roll out its first phase of hotels in prime locations in the city this year. According to a media statement, Dubai Inn is a joint venture of Meraas Holding and Emaar Properties, and will provide "best value” hotels in Dubai. With 5-star hotel rooms accounting for nearly 62 per cent of the total branded hotel inventory in the Dubai and nearly 50 per cent of the upcoming inventory also in the upscale category, Dubai Inn is targeting the budget-conscious traveller and business delegates, the statement added. It noted that in addition to appealing to an increasing number of guests from Europe, Africa, China, Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent, the new chain will be a preferred choice for delegates who attend the year-round conferences and exhibitions happening in the city. The statement said work on the first property under the Meraas-Emaar agreement will commence shortly in the Zabeel area. The flagship project is scheduled for completion in 2015. Under the agreement, an additional four properties will be added to the portfolio to collectively supply over 1,750 new hotel rooms and serviced residences to the hospitality sector. The statement added that Dubai Inn will offer essential service with complete functionality at a "reasonable price”. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties, said "Dubai Inn will be a game changer for the hospitality, aviation and tourism industry of Dubai by offering unmatched value for the guests”. Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman of Meraas Holding, said Dubai Inn's "locations have been selected to provide easy access for travellers to the city's prime business and leisure destinations.” Among the features of Dubai Inn hotels will be free WiFi connectivity and 42” TV sets, besides hosting a 24-hour store that will stock everyday essentials. The hotels will also have several self-service facilities, including self check-in, gym and mini-cars or electric cars provided through an external agency. The hotels will feature a digital online tour guide providing information about the city and the hotel's diverse offerings. Emaar Hospitality Group, the hospitality & leisure business of Emaar Properties, owns and operates Address Hotels + Resorts, Armani Hotels & Resorts, and the Vida Hotels and Resorts.
