Aquascapes, the swimming pools design and construction division of UAE based Belhasa Projects, has won new projects in Iraq and Maldives. In Erbil, Iraq, the company has won contracts for landscape design for a luxurious villa and a hotel. According to Malay Shah, General Manager, Aquascapes: “We are excited to enter the landscape design market in Iraq which has strong growth potential for us. This project is a step in the right direction. Iraq provides a pro-investment environment and this could be the start of many new projects for us.” Maldives is also a new market for Belhasa Projects. The company won a swimming pool refurbishment project for a prestigious hotel, which gives a complete facelift to the facility. “Maldives being a prominent tourist destination, there is a strong demand from hotels and private luxury villas for our services and we are looking forward to exploring more business opportunities in Maldives,” Malay Shah added. UAE based Belhasa Projects was launched in 1980 as a specialist in swimming pool construction and today the company is one of the largest of its kind in the region in the sector. BHP constructed pools can be seen in palaces, hotels, leisure complexes and villas. The company has also diversified into sports coatings, landscaping and maintenance, wet infrastructure, concrete repairs, equine pools and specialist MEP services. Belhasa Projects has been changing the face of the region for more than 25 years, with projects as diverse as clients’ demands. Innovative designs with a local flavour have included a swimming pool in the shape of a coffee pot, and a camel race grandstand in the shape of a tent. From gulftoday
