Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is set to launch its first city hotel in the Middle East, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, in June 2012. Occupying a prime position along a 1.2 kilometre stretch of Abu Dhabi’s protected Eastern Mangroves District, the new luxury five-star hotel will be home to the UAE’s largest Hammam and VIP suite, The Royal Mangroves Residence. Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara is situated just 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 10 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi. The hotel will be Anantara’s third property to open in the UAE. Its current portfolio includes Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, located in the legendary Liwa Desert in the Empty Quarter and Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara on Sir Bani Yas Island. The new property forms part of an integrated hotel, marina, retail and residential destination, providing a luxury haven away from the bustle of city life in central Abu Dhabi. The hotel consists of 222 guest rooms and suites across five levels, three restaurants and bars including a Thai speciality restaurant and a rooftop lounge offering stunning views of the lush mangroves below, a luxury spa featuring a traditional Arabic Hammam, a ballroom and state-of-the-art conference facilities. The modern architecture of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara blends unique elements of Arabic design such as archways, mushrabiyas, intricate mosaics and solid timber. Largely subtle and elegant in design, touches of 18-carat gold are also used throughout the property, adding to the luxurious feel. The property offers a variety of accommodation options where generosity of space is evident throughout; from the entry level ‘Deluxe Balcony’ rooms to the ‘Royal Mangroves Residence’. Ideal for families, interconnecting rooms are available on every floor, with connecting doors from the corridors providing additional privacy. The opulent ‘Royal Mangroves Residence’ offers a lavish but residential feel and the size of the Residence can be adapted depending on guest requirements with options from three up to seven en-suite guest rooms and balconies featured throughout. A stunning rooftop terrace overlooking the mangroves features a ten-metre swimming pool and a rooftop BBQ entertainment area. The Residence also comes equipped with its own private gym and its own dedicated entrance. Guests of the Royal Mangroves Residence will have access to a limousine service, private chef, butler and a massage and beauty therapist during their stay. The Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara will feature two signature restaurants in addition to a striking lobby lounge known as the ‘Mangroves Lounge’. The all-day dining restaurant ‘Ingredients’ will offer an array of international cuisine from live cooking stations where lengthy, spacious terraces will offer diners the option of eating outside overlooking the mangroves. Pachaylen’ (meaning ‘Mangrove’ in Thai), the hotel’s signature Thai restaurant, will offer the best in Thai hospitality and cuisine. The 52-seat speciality restaurant will feature an open kitchen, chef’s table and seasonal menus. The ‘Impressions’ rooftop lounge boasts stunning views of the Eastern Mangroves district and the Abu Dhabi City landscape. The venue will feature an LED roofline and lounge front that changes colour to suit the mood of the evening; aqua, blue, teal and purple will be programmed to fade and morph to whichever type of music is playing. Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara will be home to an impressive traditional Arabic Hammam, which at a total of 132 square metres will be the largest in the region. With ten treatment rooms, the exclusive Anantara Spa will feature separate lobbies and check-in areas for men and women, ensuring a paramount level of privacy. The hotel’s ballroom will have the capability of accommodating up to 320 guests for banquets and will be an ideal venue to host a range of events and special occasions. Breakout rooms seating between twenty and forty guests are available for private corporate meetings. The pre-function area will feature a permanent lounge area, business centre and majlis.
