50 Cent reality series Dream School will return for a second season Wednesday.
The 39-year-old rapper, born Curtis Jackson, executive produces the program for SundanceTV. The series sees 50 Cent, other celebrities and educators encourage high school dropouts to value education and help turn their lives around.
Each episode features a new mentor, and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Man vs. Food host Adam Richman, Public Enemy rapper Chuck D and 30 Rock actor Dean Winters are scheduled for season two. The celebrities are often successful at inspiring at-risk students who otherwise brush off instructors.
"When they see someone there that they can identify with, it means something," 50 Cent told reporters. "They look at the content you create that's aimed at the dysfunctional behaviors in the communities that we grew up in. They know, you know? They immediately look and they go, 'This is cool, too? The book that we're supposed to be in? Alright, let's do this. Let's try it.'"
Season two of Dream School takes place in New York, and will premiere Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on SundanceTV. 50 Cent released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, in June, and is preparing to debut delayed record Street King Immortal.
