Obama hails China commitments on emissions limits

US President Barack Obama thanked his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday for pledging to introduce a "cap and trade" emissions trading system to limit greenhouse gas production.
"The world's two largest economies, energy consumers and carbon emitters come together like this, then there is no reason for other countries, whether developed or developing, to not do so as well," Obama said.
