EU member states on Wednesday backed an arms embargo on Venezuela in response to the deepening crisis in the oil-rich Latin American state, diplomatic sources said.
The sources said the measures, to be formally approved on Monday, include a bar on European companies exporting electronic surveillance equipment that could be used to repress opponents of President Nicolas Maduro's government
