A fire erupted on an offshore oil platform of Mexico's Pemex energy firm on Wednesday, killing at least one worker, injuring 16 and forcing 300 to be evacuated, officials said.
Two Pemex officials confirmed the casualties after the company reported on Twitter that eight firefighting vessels were battling the early morning blaze on the Gulf of Mexico.
