President of the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) Elhamy el-Zaiyat described the current visit of the Egyptian tourism delegation to the US as successful.
The delegation's visit, under Tourism Minister Hesham Zazou, comes at a significant timing in order to change viewpoints toward security conditions in Egypt.
In exclusive statements to MENA, Zaiyat said that tour operators and the ordinary US citizen know the real security conditions in Egypt and want to travel to Egypt.
He added that the problem was in the wrong information they obtained from a number of politicians there and the Egyptian delegation managed to amend the information they have.
An agreement was reached to hold a conference on how to activate cultural tourism to the US, he added.
The US community is awaiting for the Egyptian parliamentary elections, which will increase US tourism to Egypt, he further said.
The Egypt delegation, visiting Florida and New Jork, will head for Washington Monday to take part in a conference for the private sector, which will see the participation of Egypt and Jordan along with the US Chamber.
He further said that a lunch meeting will be held also with US State Secretary John Kerry along with a host of US officials.
Kerry will deliver a speech on the Egyptian-US ties, he added.
