At the 2016 Critics' Choice Awards, Mad Max: Fury Road made good on its slew of nominations and took home nine awards (for Director, Production Design, Editing, Costume Design, Hair & Makeup, Visual Effects, Action Movie, Actor in an Action Movie, and Actress in an Action Movie), but missed out on Best Picture, which was scooped by Spotlight. The journalistic thriller also won Best Acting Ensemble and Best Original Screenplay, while its normcore cousin, The Big Short, took home Best Comedy.
In television, awards went to Mr. Robot for Best Drama and its stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater for Best Actor and Supporting Actor in a Drama, respectively, while Netflix's Master of None took home Best Comedy. In further love for freshman series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom followed up her Golden Globe win with another award for Best Actress in a Comedy, while UnREAL’s Constance Zimmer took home Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. Fargo made a near sweep in the mini-series category, winning Best Limited Series and earning awards for Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, and Jean Smart. Read on for the full list
