The Summer Celebration of Iranian Film Festival in London will be screening Iranian Silver-Bear winner “The Song of Sparrows” in an outdoor screening on August 22. The film will be shown at the Opera House, Holland Park, the festival website reported. Directed by Majid Majidi, “The Song of Sparrows” tells a bittersweet parable about the struggles of a family living in a rural area outside Tehran. The film brought Reza Naji a Silver Bear prize for best actor at the 58th Berlin Film Festival. From now until the London Iranian Film Festival in November, there are also special screenings named “My Persian Nights” twice a month taking place on the 5th and 25th of every month. The program contains Iranian features, documentaries, shorts and animations in Persian with English subtitles, starting at 11.30pm and will go on until 6am the following morning. Documentaries “Football, Spiritual Style” by Omid Abdollahi and “Garden Plan” by Fahimeh Kazemi and the short film “Melody of Birth” by Ali Attar are among the films to be screened during the program.
